She is regarded the world over as one of the greatest defenders and most iconic players in the history of the sport.
Casey burst onto the netball scene as a 17 year old and quickly became a house hold name throughout New Zealand. Known for her brilliant intercepts, tips, physical, skillful and super competitive style of play. She re-defined the modern defenders role and changed the way defenders played the game. Casey was the youngest ever Silver Ferns Captain and held this position for a world record 77 test matches.
Casey has had to also overcome several career threatening injuries during her playing days. She was not available for New Zealand from 2016-2018 but continued to play ANZ premiership netball for the Magic. During this time she had her first child.
Noeline Taurua coaxed her out of international retirement in late 2018 for the 2019 World Cup. Casey lead a remarkable Silver Ferns defensive unit to beat Australia and win the 2019 World Cup. Casey retired from all netball at the final whistle.

"Hi my name is Casey Kopua and I am a retired New Zealand international netball player and former captain of the Silver Ferns, and the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic".
"I am now a mother of Māia (7), William (3), Luke (18 months). I grew up being supported in a balanced and loving way by my parents, we played lots of different sports and were always active.
"I am really keen on giving back to help people achieve their goals and enjoy playing a sport they love. Playing something you love and being a part of a team is an awesome feeling. You meet lots of people, grow as a person, and you just never know where it can take you. I would never have imagined playing netball as my career, for 17 years".
"During my career there were alot of ups and downs with serious injury. One of the hardest parts of the game is being injured. I want to help you to build resilience to injury so you can get more enjoyment out of sport".
"I cant wait to be a part of your journey and to help guide you along the way".
